Fixed Rate Home Loan

A home loan (or mortgage) in which the interest rate does not change for the chosen fixed period of the loan. Once the fixed interest rate period is completed, the loan will generally revert back to a variable or floating rate unless the lender is notified prior to refix at a new agreed fixed rate and term.
